Check for the victim’s response by calling, tapping, or inflicting pain on their shoulder

Call 115 and call for additional help if you’re alone

Airway
Open airway
Open airway: To open the airway, put one hand on the victim’s head, one hand on their chin, and then, tilt the head backward, lift the chin up.

Breathing
Check for breathing
Place your ear next to the victim’s nose and mouth and LISTEN for the escape of air from their nose and mouth At the same time, place your hand on the victim’s upper abdomen and feel for movement.

CPR
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
If the victim cannot breath or has abnormal breathing, immediately commence 30 chest compressions (2 compressions/ 1 second), then 2 rescue breaths, then back to 30 chest compressions, and alternate with 2 rescue breaths.

Defibrillator
Defibrillator
If there’s an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), turn it on, follow the instructions and observe the progress while waiting for the ambulance.
