Signs of drowning
Drowning happens very quickly and silently. The victim cannot call for help and the movements are easily confused with other underwater activities, so it is difficult to detect if not paying attention.

Signs of drowning:
- The movement is like climbing a vertical ladder
- The head tilts back, just enough to keep the face above the water
- Can’t call for help
These signs happen very quickly, in just about 60 seconds before the victim sinks into the water. Ask them: “Are you okay?”, if they can’t answer it means they need help.
