Journal prompts

Journaling has been shown to reduce mental distress, help people recognize triggers, and help prioritize problems. You can answer a prompt, or simply write down whatever is on your mind.

We encourage you to keep a notebook dedicated to your journal entries. It does not have to be a daily routine, but if your mind ever feels clouded, if you are particularly stressed, or if you want to sort out your thoughts, your journal can be there to listen.

Here are some prompts from the links below for inspiration:

  • “What do you value most in life?”
  • “What difficult thoughts come up frequently?”
  • “How do you show compassion to yourself?”
  • “What emotion am I trying to avoid right now?”
  • “Why am I being hard on myself?”

More information and some journal prompts for an emotional check-in.
