Reassure and encourage them to work on their mental health if they are open to it.

How to give someone reassurance:

  • “You got this, I know you are strong.”
  • “I am here for you if you need help.”
  • “Lots of people go through this.”
  • “I know it’s hard right now, but I also know you are strong.”
  • “You are not alone.”
  • “Call me if you need me.”

How to give someone information:

  • “Have you tried any self-care techniques? __ is my favorite.”
  • “__  always helps me.”
  • “I have heard that doing ___ is really good for you.”
  • “I read this book on ___, and it helped me through a tough time.”
  • “I have heard that talking to a therapist is really helpful. I know __ really liked seeing one.”
  • “I have heard about this app called ___. They have some really good resources for people in similar situations.”
  • “I saw that ___ hospital has the best mental health staff in the city.”
  • “I saw that ___ is taking new patients.”
  • “___ told me that talking to a therapist got them through a really tough time.”
